Engage with Data

Don't miss out! Webinar sneak peek

I started my career as a middle school teacher, so when I lead a training, it’s never just a lecture.

But since this month is all about tackling our fears, don’t worry – there won’t be an uncomfortable icebreaker either.

I just love to facilitate discussions, get people thinking, and provide tools and resources that you can actually use.

So I’m excited to be putting the finishing touches on this week’s webinar, “Don’t Be Afraid of Your Data.”

And while I’m calling it a webinar, it’s really going to be a working session for you to get a solid grounding in what data looks like in your context and how to use it to tell the story of your impact.

Here’s a sneak peek of what we’ll be doing in Friday’s two-hour session:

 1) First, we’re going to get these data fears out of the way. We’ll talk about what makes people uncomfortable about data and try to ease those concerns.

 2) Next, we’ll talk about what data actually is, the different forms it can take (it might surprise you!), and why it is so important to use it for program improvement, marketing, and development.

I’m going to share my favorite tried and true strategies for collecting, reflecting on, and sharing your data.

I’m only going to give you tips for things that I’ve used and liked. And let me be clear, most of them are not going to cost you anything.

3) Finally, we’re going to get to work!

We’ll be spending a lot of our time working, sharing, and reflecting so you walk away with something you can put into practice immediately.

Together, we’ll work through a plan for crafting your data-driven story.

Using the materials I’ll provide, you’ll have time to think independently, share your ideas with others, and get real-time feedback and guidance.

When the webinar ends, you’ll be ready to put it into action, and I’ll be just an email away if you have questions once you do.

Listen, I don’t like to pay for things that I can’t do myself.

I’ll be sharing tools and strategies that I’ve actually used and had success with as a longtime practitioner, researcher, and evaluator.

Plus, I’ll be providing you with my professional guidance on your own work.

Think of it like part webinar, part coaching session, part fun gathering of like-minded individuals.

This won’t be like trick or treating where you get only the candy you want to immediately give away. Only king-size candy bars here (metaphorically speaking)!

And don’t forget, your registration fee is going to a good cause. I’ll be donating 10% of all proceeds to the Maryland SPCA, in honor of our dog who recently passed unexpectedly.

Can’t wait to see you there!
